Jennifer Howell is a public outreach and education expert with over 35 years of experience. A hallmark of Jennifer’s approach is to strategically understand client goals and make recommendations to assist clients and educational audiences to meet those goals.
Due to her training and experience with children, Jennifer knows how students learn. She knows what it takes to create materials and activities that spark student interest, provide clear choices, and motivate students to take actions that have long-term environmental benefits. Projects have entailed development and implementation of programs that include: assemblies, classroom workshops, teacher training, curricula, and resource materials that educate school audiences about waste reduction, recycling, household hazardous waste, sustainability, energy and water conservation, and children’s environmental health. Her programs consistently receive high marks for teacher and student satisfaction, increases in student learning, and reported positive changes in student behavior.
Jennifer initiated Triangle’s education line almost 30 years and now serves as senior advisor and mentor on several projects. Jennifer also has worked with clients to create appropriate strategies to effectively engage the public, particularly related to solid waste facilities planning, siting capital facilities, and transportation projects.
Jennifer is an avid reader, gardener, and hiker.
