Triangle Associates updated the Powerful Choices Program into a two-day workshop tailored exclusively for Bellevue middle schools. Students focus on land and water, learning how their choices affect their immediate environment. With new, interactive stations, this two-day program gives students the unique opportunity to hear relevant information about their community and realize their connection.
National Sacred Sites policy under review
Under a contract with the U.S. Institute for Environmental Conflict Resolution, Triangle is serving as the national facilitator/coordinator for a year-long effort to review US Forest Service policy on tribal access to and protection of Sacred Sites on Forest Service lands. The goal of this effort is to produce a report on recommendations for change to the Secretary of Agriculture. Triangle is providing process design and strategic advice, facilitating/coordinating national tribal listening sessions, weekly calls and strategic planning sessions, and conducting analysis on tribal consultation and public comments.

Our Planet, R Choices recognized by WSRA!
The King County assembly - Our Planet, R Choices - has received the WSRA 2011 K-12 Youth Education Recycler of the Year Award. As part of King County's waste reduction and recycling school program, the show explains the 4 Rs along with their preferred order and enables students to see that each choice has a different impact on the planet and its resources. An intermediate version for older students takes an in-depth look at reducing food waste and composting.
NEW! Public Involvement in Manchester, Kitsap Co.
Triangle is assisting with public involvement in Manchester, Kitsap County to prioritize “green infrastructure” projects to alleviate flooding and other stormwater issues. Triangle will create public awareness about the study, gather citizen input to identify stormwater problem areas and sites for green infrastructure, and help interested property owners participate in a rain-garden program or other “green” stormwater management opportunities.
