About Triangle
Our Team • Kate Maher

Kate Maher is an environmental educator with a background in science education in classrooms, museums and parks. Her diverse experience includes introducing students to live reptiles and amphibians, giving presentations to large audiences on penguins, sharks, and coral reefs at a world-renowned aquarium, and leading hikes and canoe trips as a park ranger.

She believes strongly that education and direct connection with the natural world inspires people to conserve and protect the natural resources. Kate recevied her Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction: Science Education from the University of Washington in 2011. She began working for Triangle in October 2011 and presents workshops for elementary and secondary students focusing on energy conservation, waste reduction, and protecting biodiversity through personal choices and actions.

In her free time, she enjoys hiking, gardening, seeing live music, and hunting for wild mushrooms.
