Senior Associate Sara Gersten-Rothenberg is a dynamic, creative educator with over 16 years of experience in environmental education, arts education, community outreach and school program coordination. Sara has been the creative force behind multiple elementary school assemblies that teach students about waste reduction and recycling. Sara works with students of all ages and is adept at developing relevant programs that inspire students to practice environmental stewardship. In addition to program development, Sara has provided workshops to more than 600 King and Snohomish County classes on the topics of resource conservation, stewardship, biodiversity, over-consumption and household hazardous waste. Sara also works with principals, custodians and teachers in King County, providing technical assistance to schools, conducting school-wide waste audits and recommending steps to conserve resources and improve on waste reduction and recycling practices.
Before joining Triangle, Sara worked as the Director of the Ground Zero Teen Center, a national pilot youth center program. Outside of Triangle Sara is a National and two-time World Champion Ultimate Frisbee player. These days her favorite non-work activity is spending time with her newly expanding family.
