Alexis Alloway joined Triangle as a classroom presenter in the fall of 2011, bringing with her more than twelve years of experience in outdoor and environmental education. She earned a B.S. in environmental studies from the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, and has taught environmental science in various educational settings.
Her teaching experience includes field and classroom-based programs in diverse locations such as Namibia, Chile, India, Alaska and Colorado. Highlights of her career include teaching environmental science in a private high school, delivering environmental education programs to elementary school children in southwest Colorado, and instructing month-long wilderness expeditions for the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS).
Alexis loves spending her free time in the mountains of the North Cascades and on the Washington volcanoes, where she is constantly inspired to learn more about the natural world. Her hobbies include backcountry skiing, mountaineering, photography and reading.
