Snohomish County Public Utility District Hydropower and Renewable Energy Workshops

SERVICE AREA: Youth Education

Overview

We create and teach middle school classroom workshops focused on the different forms of energy as well as how energy transfers and transforms within a system.

Project Description

Triangle develops and presents a two day series of exploratory workshops for grades 6-8 on behalf of the Snohomish County Public Utility District (PUD). The goal of these workshops is to inform and engage students about the various methods of generating and storing energy. On day one, students learn the different forms of energy and how energy transfers and transforms within a system using their local hydropower  project and tidal energy as examples. On day two, students learn about wind, geothermal, and bio-fuel energies are and how they compare to fossil fuels. Students also explore energy storage technology and the future of energy production.
